I have a rubber bracelet which I wear to go shopping. To pay for items I just waft this bracelet over their payment machine and I've paid. No scrabbling about for a purse or dropping change everywhere counting it out etc. I love it. :)

A cashless society
by fulltimestudent infor thousands of years some material form of money has been important in daily.
but now, all over the world, there is a move toward a cashless society - a society where out wealth exists in an electronic form.. perhaps, no other country has moved as quickly toward that notion than china.. a report today on china's peoples daily (english) web-site claims that 84% of chinese can now leave home without cash in their wallet/pocket.
as i understand it they will make payments via a smartphone app.. ( see: http://en.people.cn/n3/2017/0924/c90000-9273002.html ).

What have been some of the funniest local needs talks that you have heard?
by DaPriest ini remember once in berlin south germany there was a local needs part for the men only, and how they should use the toilet.
in all seriousness for ten minutes a retarded nigerian was going on about how men need to sit down when using the toilet.
no mention of anything else.. it transpired that some little kraut boy from an "interested" family would aim for the side of the toilet and leave a great big puddle for others to clean up.

Back in the 90s men were not to follow the boy band fashion of flicking up their fringe it should be flat. Shaved heads was also worldly and us ladies should not have overly long fingernails nor shoukd they be painted loud colours.
In Spain (50 degree heat) men weren't happy they had to wear enclosed smart shoes but us ladies could wear flip flops and have bare arms. They said in Australia smart shorts were allowed for men so why not Spain.

Do they take the GB seriously?
by Tech49 inso this is an honest question that i have been thinking about for some time.. do regular jehovahś witnesses in other countries (other than the usa) take the governing body in new york seriously?.
i mean, i cant help but wonder about the publishers in japan, or south africa, or mexico, or new zealand, or even the uk, or spain, or italy...... or russia?.
not you and i (we know what you think of them), but the regular jwś...... do they take these american buffoons seriously?

I only knew the GBs names after leaving but I never knew the COs names either nor met them let alone eat a meal or go d2d with any of them. Single females don't get those privileges unless you are a pioneer.
They were venerated in my KHs here in UK. Not just them their voices. A CD with a talk from one of them was practically worshipped.
One occasion when we had no Sunday speaker in Spain (happened a lot so if old Almighty Jah couldn't get someone on a 4 hour flight from UK for this part of the meeting that should never be missed I had serious doubts about his other capabilities) we were going to have the absolute privilege of a GB members talk from a CD. They couldn't get it to work so off to the beach an hour early for everyone. Those were the best Sundays. We all wore bathing costumes under meeting clothes anyway cos we went to the beach after every Sunday meeting anyway.

How many do you figure are converted through the door to door ministry?
by HereIgo ini regular pioneered for 2 years and never have actually converted anyone through the door to door work, in fact, i only knew a few individuals that joined this way.
most were born-in or at least had some type of family influence.
i had several bible studies but they all got cold feet when things got serious and potential baptism was discussed.

Saddos like me :)
The ONLY people I know that became witnesses from the doors were lonely, dysfunctional, socially challenged members of the community who were swept up with the joy of being shown some attention by those at their door! -

Pale.Emperor And The Hypnotists
by pale.emperor ineven as a jw i was fascinated with hypnosis and seeing people like derren brown putting people under almost instantly.
in the last 2/3 years when i was a jw but beginning to wake up from the bullshit i read up on hypnosis, watched a few youtube demos and explanations etc.
but never actually studied it seriously until about a year ago.

Derren Brown is awesome. I've seen 3 of his shows live and met him in his dressing room through mutual friends. He hypnotizes my daughter every time but even tho I would love him to do it to me it never works. Any idea why?
I use self hypnosis successfully many times tho.

Unacknowledged!
by Awakenednow inso...i watched the new netflix movie, "uncknowledged" by dr steven greer today fierce hearing to dj's discussing it on the radio, minds blown.
it makes a strong case for ufo's and totally screws up jw doctrine about the earth having the only intelligent life in the universe, as it is where the issue of universal sovereignty is played out and decided....the gb will need to do some fast talking.
it will be fascinating to blow some jw minds with this.

Until someone like Professor Brian Cox or Professor Richard Dawkins are convinced aliens have been here I will believe it is likely other life forms exist many millions of miles away but not the technology to get them here.....yet.

I know 2 bros who met their wives on there but when some sisters from the same congregation joined they were "counselled" and warned there would be consequences if they didn't leave.
Both men married women 20+ years their senior and both were German living in UK. Weird coincidence. As far as I am aware they are still married. One couple went to Germany and the other stayed local.

This is why the Elders should always call the WT society or personal attorney before ever talking to the Police.
by StoneWall inthis is probably going to unnerve some on here or make them uncomfortable.we always hear, why didn't the elders call the cops first instead of the wt society (lawyers/attorneys).
in cases of child molestation or other incidents.this video is why and if you're smart you'll follow their example.i'm not taking the wtbts side on this just so you know in advance because i do not agree with the two witness rule at all.but be that as it may, this is by far the best lawyer/attorney and law professor i've ever heard on the subject of why you should never talk to the police and always let an investigation be made through counsel.this is why in the usa you have the right to remain silent when talking to police/authorities but even more important what the fifth amendment really entails and why it would behoove us all to understand what can happen even if you are totally innocent and have nothing to hide but how things can go horribly wrong.if i ever have to go to court for anything i can only hope that i got a lawyer as competent as this one the vid is approx 46 minutes long but well worth investing that time because if you had to talk to a lawyer it would cost you a lot to receive what this professor covers in this.the majority is from the law professor and the remaining minutes are of a former police captain/investigator with his insights and opinions.and just to be clear, i'm not suggesting that the elders not call the police because they should in cases of child molestation but rather they better get legal advice to protect themselves so that they don't have to answer for the wtbts decisions.look how many former (ex) elders we have on sites like this one and others and i'm so happy they got free of the wt but also they didn't get in trouble by accidentally saying/doing the wrong thing.all of us can benefit by following this advice in the video and i hope you enjoy it and to know what your rights arehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-7o9xyp7ee.

I would have put my hand up even tho clearly innocent and nowhere near the crime scene as I am in UK but on that premise could be found guilty of a crime I did not commit.
The second guy talking about the Police brutality overseas he thinks goes on but that is not allowed in USA seems blissfully unaware of all the trigger happy Police we hear about or perhaps he excludes shooting and killing innocent (until proven otherwise in a court of law) citizens as a form of Police brutality and means just beatings alone.

Hi from England
by victimofdeceit inrecently quit being a jw because i realised that beyond armageddon i was going to be ruled by people who cover up child abuse, not telling the congregations by their letter where the money they donated in the box is going towards paying compensation for legal battles which they caused, and also i was bullied by elders and discriminated against for being homosexual, even though i am not practicing it.
it wasn't until i threatened legal action for a breach of confidence that the elders were deleted.
so through the media and my own personal experience, i realised that they were no different to corrupt businesses in the world.

JWs biggest problem is not doctrinal issues
by Chook init's biggest problems are associated with its lack of genuine love and concern for the rank& file.
the average person doesn't need a food critic to tell them their hamburger is shit, in the same manner the average person can discern kindness and love.
gbs fake love and concern is evident in the way head office deals with victims of sexual abuse by jw clergy.

It was lack of love woke me up. First for the lack of any compassion allowed for African boat people who washed up on our beaches in Fuertevrntura. Bible studies only, no practical help like money food, clothes or even toys for the children in case "They came into the truth for the wrong reasons".
Then after I had a masked man ( never identified or caught 8 years later) come in thru my bedroom window and attack me not one bro or sister called round, phoned or e-mailed. A year later one sister informed me she was shunning me cos i wasnt going to meetings. Their identifying mark is definitely not love.
